This Privacy Policy explains how The Soma Script LLC ("The Soma Script," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit thesomascript.com, contact us by email, use the browser-based Breath tool, or follow links to outside purchase and delivery services (collectively, the "Site").
This Policy applies to the Site and to communications sent directly to The Soma Script. Outside platforms and services operate under their own privacy policies.

2. The Current Site in Plain Language
Currently:
- The Site does not use analytics, advertising pixels, behavioral advertising, or cross-site tracking.
- The Site does not contain third-party media, social feeds, videos, forms, or other embedded third-party services.
- The Site does not offer user accounts or an on-site checkout.
- The Site does not operate a newsletter signup.
- Contact takes place through ordinary email at the address above.
- The Breath tool runs inside the visitor's browser. We do not receive or store the breathing mode, timing, session activity, or other choices made inside that tool.
- Purchases and digital delivery take place through outside providers, which may include Lemon Squeezy, BookFunnel, and other retailers or fulfillment services.
We will update this Policy before adding a newsletter, analytics, advertising tools, embedded services, saved Breath-tool activity, user accounts, direct payment processing, or any other feature that changes how personal information is collected or used.
3. Information We Collect
A. Information you send by email
When you email us, we receive the information contained in that message. This may include your email address, name, subject line, message, attachments, and any other information you choose to provide.
We use email correspondence to respond to general questions, permissions and rights inquiries, media inquiries, practitioner or educational inquiries, purchase or delivery questions, and other legitimate business communications.
B. Technical information processed to deliver the Site
The Site is hosted by an outside hosting provider. Like other web hosts, the provider may automatically process limited technical information needed to deliver and secure the Site, such as an IP address, browser and device information, requested page, referring page, request date and time, and diagnostic or security logs.
The Soma Script does not use this information for behavioral advertising, personal profiling, or cross-site tracking.
C. Breath-tool activity
The Breath tool works locally in the visitor's browser. Any settings or session state used by the tool remain on the visitor's device. The Soma Script does not receive, store, or create a history of a visitor's Breath-tool activity.
D. Purchases and digital delivery
The Site may link to outside purchase, payment, retailer, and digital-delivery providers. These may include Lemon Squeezy, BookFunnel, and other services.
Those providers collect information directly under their own terms and privacy policies. Depending on the provider and transaction, The Soma Script may receive limited order or fulfillment information, such as a purchaser's name, email address, country or region, product purchased, order identifier, transaction status, refund status, or delivery information.
Where Lemon Squeezy processes a purchase, it may act as the merchant of record and handle payment processing, taxes, refunds, chargebacks, and payment-card security. The Soma Script does not receive or store a purchaser's full payment-card number.
BookFunnel and similar services may process information needed to deliver a digital book or provide download assistance. Their handling of that information is governed by their own privacy policies.
4. Sensitive Information and Trauma-Related Messages
The Site and the Breath tool are designed for publishing, education, and general information. They are not designed to collect medical records, therapy records, diagnoses, crisis details, private trauma histories, confidential client information, or other highly sensitive personal information.
Please leave those details out of ordinary email. Email is not a secure clinical, medical, legal, or emergency channel, and this inbox is not continuously monitored.
If you voluntarily include health, trauma, or other sensitive information in an email, that information becomes part of the correspondence we receive. We process it only as permitted by applicable law and only as reasonably necessary to read and respond to the message, manage business records, comply with law, or protect legal rights. We do not use sensitive information for advertising, profiling, analytics, or to infer characteristics about visitors.
The Soma Script does not provide crisis care, psychotherapy, medical treatment, diagnosis, or legal representation through the Site or by email.
5. How We Use Personal Information
We may use personal information to:
- operate, maintain, deliver, and secure the Site;
- respond to correspondence and requests;
- manage permissions, rights, media, and publishing inquiries;
- manage purchases, refunds, delivery questions, and transaction records received from outside providers;

The Site currently has no newsletter signup and does not send marketing email through a mailing list. Before a mailing list is introduced, we will update this Policy and provide clear signup, consent, and unsubscribe information.
6. Legal Bases Where Applicable
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process personal information on one or more of the following grounds:
- to perform a contract or take steps at your request, including purchases, delivery, and transaction-related correspondence;
- for legitimate interests in operating and securing the Site, responding to communications, maintaining appropriate business records, preventing fraud or misuse, and protecting legal rights, where those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests;

7. Cookies, Local Storage, and Tracking
The Site currently does not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, pixels, or cross-site tracking technologies.
The Site may use essential browser functions needed to display pages or run local features. The Breath tool may use temporary browser memory or local storage on the visitor's device. That information is not transmitted to The Soma Script.
Outside purchase, payment, delivery, or retailer services may use their own cookies or similar technologies after a visitor follows a link to those services. Their practices are governed by their own privacy policies.
8. How We Share Personal Information
We may share personal information only as reasonably necessary in the following circumstances:
Hosting and technical providers. Our hosting and technical providers may process limited information needed to deliver, maintain, and secure the Site.
Email provider. Our email provider processes messages so that correspondence can be transmitted, stored, and answered.
Purchase and delivery providers. Lemon Squeezy, BookFunnel, retailers, and other outside providers may process transactions, deliver products, manage refunds, or provide download assistance. We may receive or exchange limited order and fulfillment information needed for those purposes.
Professional advisers. We may share information with accountants, insurers, technical advisers, or legal advisers where reasonably necessary to operate and protect the business.
Legal and security reasons. We may disclose information where required by law, legal process, or a valid government request, or where reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or threats to rights or safety.
Business transfer. Information may be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to applicable law.
With permission. We may share information when you request or authorize the sharing.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising. We do not use private correspondence, reader emails, or personal stories as testimonials or marketing material without separate, explicit permission.
9. Data Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including:
- correspondence, for as long as needed to respond, manage follow-up, maintain appropriate business records, resolve disputes, or protect rights;
- order and transaction information, for as long as needed for fulfillment, refunds, accounting, tax, fraud prevention, and legal obligations;
- technical and security records, for the period maintained by the relevant hosting or technical provider for delivery, diagnostics, security, and abuse prevention; and
- legal and compliance records, for as long as required or permitted by law.
We may retain information longer where required by law, needed to establish or defend legal claims, or necessary to prevent fraud or abuse. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it.
The Soma Script does not retain Breath-tool session activity because that activity remains in the visitor's browser.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No website, email system, service provider, or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
Please use ordinary email only for information suitable for that channel. Payment details should be entered only through the outside payment provider's checkout.
11. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights concerning your personal information. These may include rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or information about how data is used; to object to certain processing; or to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To make a privacy request, email theodor@thesomascript.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify your identity and locate the relevant records. We will respond as required by applicable law.
If applicable law gives you a right to appeal a decision concerning a privacy request, reply to the decision email and ask for review.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
12. International Visitors
The Soma Script is located in the United States. Personal information may be processed in the United States or in other countries where our hosting, email, purchase, delivery, or professional service providers operate. Those countries may have data-protection laws that differ from the laws where you live.
Where applicable law grants additional rights, including in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may contact us using the email above. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
13. Children's Privacy
The Site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has sent personal information to us, contact us so that we can take reasonable steps to delete it.
14. Outside Websites and Services
The Site may link to outside purchase, payment, delivery, retailer, or informational services. We do not control those services or their privacy practices. Review the privacy policy of any outside service before providing personal information.
Current providers may include:
- Netlify for website hosting;
- Lemon Squeezy for some purchases and payment processing;
- BookFunnel for some digital-book delivery and download assistance; and
- other retailers or fulfillment providers identified at the point of purchase or delivery.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the Site, service providers, business practices, or legal requirements. The revised version will appear on the Site with a new "Last updated" date.
We will update this Policy before launching a newsletter, analytics, advertising or tracking tools, embedded third-party services, user accounts, saved Breath-tool activity, or direct payment processing.
